Our sitter ended up canceling so to celebrate we took the kids out to lunch at Chili's and then we went and saw Rio 2 at the movies. It was a blast! Lily is only 10 months old so I was a little worried about how she would do at the movies but the timing ended up being right during her nap time so she slept through most of the movie! Christian loved Rio 2. So did my husband and I. It was really cute! A great way to spend the day as a family.
I will share the recipe with you and then I will share some pictures from our Anniversary.
This is a clean eating recipe. My husband loved this BBQ sauce. He is always thing it on everything. It is just the right amount of sweet and just the right amount of spicy!
Sweet & Spicy Strawberry BBQ Sauce
1 cup homemade Ketchup (or preservative free)
1 cup homemade Strawberry Jam (or preservative free)
3/4 cup water
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
1 1/4 cup Raw Honey (we like it a little more sweet, you can add less if you don't)
2 tbsp Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Ground Mustard
3 cloves Minced Garlic
1-2 tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (add more or less depending on how spicy you want it)
1. Add all ingredients to a sauce pan over medium-high heat. Stir constantly using a whisk. Bring to a boil. Turn down heat and simmer for 20 mins. Stir occasionally.
2. Pour into Mason Jars and cool to room temperature. Store in the refrigerator. Lasts up to one week.
Let me know what you think of this recipe!
Now here are some pictures of our Anniversary!

A little blurry but I love her kisses, even when she eats your face while doing it.
