Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

I decided to make my husband and some of the other soldiers on base a treat. I didn't have a lot of time so I wanted to make something easy and fast. I had originally wanted to make chocolate chip cookies but those are pretty time consuming so I decided on chocolate chip cookie bars. Pretty much the same thing just in bar form. I am happy to report that they loved them! I found this recipe on Two Peas and thier Pod I followed it exactly how it was. I had all the ingredients so there was no need to revise it.

~ 2 1/8 cups flour
~ 1/2 tsp salt
~ 1/2 tsp baking soda
~ 12 tbsp butter (melted and cooled at room temp.)
~ 1 cup light brown sugar
~ 1/2 cup granulated sugar
~ 1 large egg
~ 1 large egg yolk
~ 2 tsp vanilla extract
~ 2 cups chocolate chips

Pre Heat 325

1. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray. In a medium bowl mix together flour, salt and baking soda. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl mix together butter and sugargs. Add in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Mix well. Slowly stir in dry ingredients.  Mix in chocolate chips.

3. Add dough to pan and smooth top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 or until top is a light golden brown.

They are really good right out of the pan. Nice and warm and gooey. You could even microwave them.
