Rosemary and Thyme Bread

I wanted to make my husband a really nice homemade meal for lunch today. He had a 6 hour CQ today so I knew he would be starving. We also only get to see each other on the weekends so I like to make him special meals. However, He can't come home now. Booo. I am now left with this huge meal that my 2 year old son won't even try. Looks like I'll be eating left overs for the next week. What I made was Individual meatloaf in a cupcake pan, carrot and corn casserole and homemade Rosemary and Thyme Bread. It's all really good! I wish he could have enjoyed it. I will make him something yummy next weekend!

I'm going to tell you the recipe for the Rosemary and Thyme Bread. It's so good and really easy and fast to make. There is no yeast so you don't need to wait for it to rise and there is also no kneading involved. I found this recipe on www.familyoven.com. However, their recipe was for a wheat bread and I wanted to make an herb bread so I tweaked their recipe to make it my own.

*1/4 cup of vegetable oil
*1 tsp salt
*4tsp baking powder
*3 cups flour
*1 1/2 cups water
*2 tsp rosemary
*2 tsp thyme

Pre-heat oven to 400

1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, rosemary and thyme. Do NOT sift the flour.
2.In a different bowl, combine water and oil.
3. Add liquid mix to your dry mix. Stir together until there is no more dry flour. The flour will be moist but not sticky. Depending on how you feel the consistency is you can add a little more flour or water if needed.
4. With oiled hands shape the dough into a ball or an oval. Add and x to the top of the dough. Sprinkle with a little sea salt.
5. Bake for 40 mins at 400.

This is a country style bread so it sliced thick.
